The SIAGM has just published the 11th  issue of the “Autour du golfe” magazine (in French) for local stakeholders and the public. Thanks to this publication the IMCORE project has been explained and brought into the local context.

The SIAGM is an intermunicipal organisation of 34 municipalities and is the “policy” partner of the IMCORE’s French local Expert Couplet (with the University of Brittany). Their aim is to promote local development according to a common vision of protection, planning and sustainable development. Since 2000, the SIAGM is leading a project of Natural Regional Park and is preparing its charter.

From the 25th to the 28th of November, various IMCORE partners were at the Littoral Conference, held in Venice this year.

We made the most of this opportunity by presenting the project through a poster, as part of various oral presentations and also at a Spicosa workshop on Local Partnerships. Manuelle Phillipe, from the University of Brittany and leader of IMCORE workpackage 1, explained to attendees some of the key aspects to consider while developing policy-practice-science partnerships (referred to as expert couplets in the IMCORE and COREPOINT projects).

The event proved to be a great opportunity for networking, catching up on other projects to mainstream our efforts, learn about current trends in ICZM  (Integrated Coastal Zone Management) and to tell everyone about IMCORE by distributing promotional bookmarks.

At the next Littoral conference, in two years time, we hope to present most of our results about adaptive management for coastal change, to share our experiences and lessons learnt with the rest of the coastal community.
